Dirty Ramen

Serves 3-4

Jazzed up Ramen Noodles!

  • 2 pack ramen noodles,
  • 6-8 jumbo shrimps (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 chicken sausage, completely cooked ones, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (purple or green)
  • 2 cups bean sprout (ready to use)
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • ½ cup carrots sliced thinly
  • 1 cup scallion sliced
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • For sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons sriracha sauce (or any other hot sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced

  1. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl; keep aside.
  2. Cook the ramen noodles according to the instruction on the packet with little extra water. Once they are al dente or almost done, remove from the heat drain and keep aside. Sprinkle them with little oil and toss, this will prevent them from sticking together.
  3. Heat oil in a wok on high heat; add the sliced sausage to the wok. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes or till they start to get little brown, now add the shrimps and stir-fry them for 3-4 minutes or till they start to turn pink. Add all the veggies, except bean sprouts, scallion and limejuice and stir-fry for few more seconds.
  4. Add the sauce and keep stir-frying for 1 minute or so, finally add the ramen noodles, keep tossing and stir-fry everything for last few seconds. Add the beans sprout, scallions and limejuice. Give everything a good final toss to combine well. Remove from the heat, check for seasoning and serve hot!

You can adjust the amount of hot sauce and honey as per your liking. Also feel free to add any veggies or meat as per your choice.

I recently read or watch (I feel like it was youtube clip… ahh can’t remember where I found) similar story. It may be small things people do, but those kind gestures go make our life SO much better. Just a simple smile from someone can impact other’s life. I liked your story. And ramen? Yes, and love this creative name too. :)

Your post made me smile! :) You are obviously the person that notices the good apples in the barrel, not the rotten one. :) It may be called dirty, but what a delicious looking ramen meal!!! Love the 2 tsp. of sriracha in the sauce!
